1st Screen Test – took place 1946, for 20th Century Fox. Took place on the set of the film Mother Wore Tights. It was a silent test, and Marilyn's screen test was filmed in colour, which was rare at that time in the film industry. Marilyn had to walk across the set, sit down, light a cigarette, then put it out and leave. The result of this Screen Test – it gave Marilyn Monroe her first studio contract. 2nd Screen Test – took place 1948, for Columbia. Marilyn is stated has having tested for a role in the film Born Yesterday while under contract with Columbia. The test was not allowed to be shown, and Marilyn's option was dropped from the studio. |
