The last Will and Testament of Marilyn Monroe was filed in New York's Surrogate Court on 17th August 1962. In late October 1962 controversy arose over if the Will could be treated as legal, and The Los Angeles Times stated that Marilyn's Will, which was then estimated at disposing of an Estate worth $1,000,000, was being contested by Inez Melson, Marilyn's former business manager. Miss Melson felt that the Will had been made under the influence of either Lee Strasberg or Dr Marianne Kris. 30th October 1962 Surrogate Judge S Samuel DiFalco ruled against Inez Melson and admitted the Will into probate. Due to further controversy and reported lack of funds, beneficiaries did not receive first payments until after December 1971. |
