'Weekends with Marilyn' is the theme at The Belcourt in Nashville - Marilyn's film 'River of No Return' was shown yesterday, and will be shown again today, next weekend it's the turn of 'The Prince and the Showgirl', then on 11th-12th February it's going to be 'Some Like it Hot', and for the last weekend which is 18th-19th February it's 'The Misfits', Marilyn's last completed film - check local press for details on those. It is being reported that the 'old Hollywood Glamour' is favourite and making a comeback - I sure hope so!!! I've just found some fantastic 'rare' footage of Marilyn Monroe in Korea, this has sound with it too, and I'm thrilled to be able to include it on Marilyn Monroe Memories. The Aero Theatre will be 'Remembering Marilyn' on Wednesday 23rd January 2012, they will be showing "The Legend of Marilyn Monroe" documentary and a selection of Movietone newsreels relating to Marilyn too. Michelle Williams won a Golden Globe for "My Week With Marilyn" - congratulations to Michelle. The pilot of "Smash" which shows a Marilyn Monroe musical being created, is set to air on Monday 6th February 2012 on NBC. A powerful tribute video has been created by a Marilyn fan, and I just so wanted to share it with visitors to Marilyn Monroe Memories, in other words YOU, I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do, it's very moving (my thanks to Jerry for letting me know about it, much appreciated)!!! Eve Arnold, who took many photographs of Marilyn Monroe and became her friend, sadly died on Friday, RIP Eve. A six metre tall snow sculpture of Marilyn Monroe in her famous pose from "The Seven Year Itch" will be on display in Harbin, which is the capital city of Heilongjiang Province during the Ice Sculpture Festival, when it opens tomorrow. "My Week With Marilyn" is set to open in more cinemas around the world, check out your local cinema. The 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival opens next week, and one of the highlights is an exhibit of rare Marilyn Monroe photographs, and to accompany this "The Prince and the Showgirl" will be screened too. Also included in the honourees this year will be Michelle Williams, who of course portrayed Marilyn in "My Week With Marilyn". At Castle Galleries in Bluewater, Kent, England an exhibition of Eve Arnold's candid portraits of Marilyn Monroe will be held from 16th April 2011 to 24th April 2011. If you are lucky enough to visit this exhibition, please email me and let me know - thanks. There is a rare Playboy magazine that features Marilyn Monroe on sale on eBay at the moment, it is being reported that it has passed $10,000 and is still going even higher, the eBay sale for this item ends on 13th April 2011. NBC are soon to broadcast a show called "Smash", the storyline is about a group of broadway professionals who are putting on a theatre show based on Marilyn Monroe's life, it will take you backstage, showing you all there is to know, and I'm thrilled to be able to include some video footage of this, and you can watch it below. It's due to be broadcast in February 2012 in USA. It's been reported TODAY that "My Week With Marilyn" is being looked at with the view to adapting it for the theatre. "The Profiles in History" auction took place in Los Angeles on Friday, and Marilyn Monroe items sold for the following: Camera negatives from "Some Like it Hot" $1,500, autographed letter signed by Norma Jeane when she was 18 $52,500, rare shots of Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable on set of "The Misfits" $2,000, personal Marilyn photograph signed by Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and Humphrey Bogart $60,000, a portrait of a young Marilyn signed $37,000 and the invitation Marilyn received to attend JFK's birthday $40,000. It's being reported that there are doubts at how factual the book that "My Week With Marilyn" is based on actually is. The screenwriter Adrian Hodges states "what we were not making was an investigation of whether Colin's story was true. We were telling his account of it. That's the magical aspect of it. And even so, he did insist it was true" (comment taken from latimes.com article). So there would appear to be those who think that no 'relationship' developed between Marilyn and Colin, while others state it's possible that a 'relationship' was formed for a short period of time, just as the book stated. "The Profiles in History" auction will be held on 15th - 16th December 2011 and will include rare Marilyn merchandise such as her 1962 JFK birthday party invitation at Madison Square Garden, which is when she sang "Happy Birthday", along with her platinum and diamond wedding band from her marriage to Joe DiMaggio. "My Week With Marilyn" opened on 25th November here in England, I've been lucky enough to see it, in fact when I watched it the first time, I promptly went and bought another ticket and watched the second showing of the day. When I watched this film my heart just went out to Marilyn, though of course it always does, and I would say that if you love Marilyn Monroe as much as I do, you're going to love this film too!!! If you go to see it at your local cinema, please email me and let me know your views - thanks in advance. Also "My Week With Marilyn" has had rave reviews too. Michelle Williams, who portrays Marilyn in the film "My Week With Marilyn" has been announced as the winner of the Washington Area Film Critics Association Best Actress award, for her performance in this film - congratulations to her!!! The Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, USA on Sunday saw the sale of some rare Marilyn Monroe photographs, taken when she was a teenager and still known by her married name Norma Jeane Dougherty, the photographs along with the copyright of them, in the end went for $352,000. "My Week With Marilyn" has been released in cinemas in UK today, when you've been to see this film in your part of the world please email me your views on it. It's worth noting that critics are raving about this film which features the time Marilyn Monroe came to England. I've been able to locate a publicity photograph for "My Week With Marilyn", and I'm pleased to be able to include it here on Marilyn Monroe Memories. The secret behind Marilyn's performance at JFK's birthday has been revealed......the reason behind her sexy rendition of the "Happy Birthday Mr President" song was due to the fact that, bless her, she was out of breath, due to the fact that it is being stated she got lost heading toward the stage at Madison Square Garden, and therefore she ran around trying to find the correct door. "My Week With Marilyn" is set to be released in cinemas in UK from 25th November 2011, the trailer can be viewed on Marilyn Monroe Memories, and also it has made an appearance several times on the television too. New York are hosting an exhibition titled "Picturing Marilyn", which opened on Thursday which features photographs never before seen of our Marilyn, and the exhibition itself will continue throughout this weekend. According to those who have created the exhibition it spans the life of Marilyn in front of the camera, starting with her teenage years, and the exhibition is staged at the Milk Gallery in New York. Going back to the film "My Week With Marilyn" now, it will have its UK premiere in London on 20th November 2011. Stunning photograph of Marilyn Monroe set to be sold at auction on 17th November 2011 by Bonhams, which are based in London, UK. News of another auction now....in December in Hollywood, USA a special auction will take place, one of the items for sale will be an 8 page letter, handwritten by a teenage Norma Jeane, who as we all know became Marilyn Monroe, and the letter is expected to sell for about £25,000. At this auction there will also be a Marilyn photograph and a costume that Marilyn wore too, the auction itself will be conducted by Julien's Auctions. It has been reported today, that Marilyn Monroe's wedding ring from her marriage to Joe DiMaggio will be sold at auction. The wedding ring itself is an eternity ring, set with 35 baguette-cut diamonds and is made of platinum. The auction will take place at Profiles in History auction house in California, and it is expected to sell for between $300,000 - $500,000. The burial spot above Marilyn Monroe in Westwood Village Memorial Park, Los Angeles is up for sale. An American widow is selling it in an eBay auction, so far $2.5 million has been bid. A poster for "My Week With Marilyn" has been released, and I'm thrilled to be able to include it on Marilyn Monroe Memories. "My Week with Marilyn", a film all about Marilyn's time here in England when she filmed "The Prince and the Showgirl" has had its release date pushed back, no longer to be released in USA on 4th November 2011, but will now been seen in cinemas from 23rd November 2011. The reason for the change of release date is due to the fact that it did so well at the New York Film Festival, by moving the release date back it will make the film one of the IT films of Thanksgiving in America. Early photographs taken of Marilyn Monroe in her first photo shoot are going to be on sale in the "Icons & Idols" auction held 2nd-4th December 2011 in Beverly Hills, California. Not only are the photographs for sale but the copyright that goes with these images too. It is being reported that in February 2012 NBC has a new series called "Smash", which will be about a fictional Marilyn Monroe themed Broadway musical. A Christian Dior ad campaign that features Charlize Theron, and shows her encountering Marilyn in a dressing room, this had its debut at the Emmys broadcast. Jo & Grace, a new boutique that has just opened in Houma, beams large black and white photographs of fashion icons which includes our Marilyn Monroe in their shop as customers look through the racks of dresses, sequined shirts, etc. There is an exhibition of celebrity items on display, and touring mainland China, one of the items is the green dress that Marilyn wore in "River of No Return". Once this exhibition has ended, all the items featured in this exhibition will be available to buy at the Legends Auction, which will be held at Ponte 16, Macao on 22nd October 2011. The exhibition itself is called "Super Stars' Memorable Collections". The film "My Week with Marilyn" is still scheduled to open on 4th November 2011 in USA, hopefully this film will then be released shortly after in cinemas around the world. Jersey Museum, in Jersey is holding a collection of Marilyn Monroe dresses, that are owned by a retired investment banker, and outfits included are from Marilyn films including "Some Like it Hot", "The Seven Year Itch" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". A rework of Andy Warhol's portrait of Marilyn Monroe, created using nothing but make-up and cosmetics will be auctioned by feelunique.com, the proceeds of this auction will go to three different cancer charities. An early screening of the film "My Week With Marilyn" was held outside Chicago and Leaky on 1st September 2011. The hosts of this event mentioned that the film that was going to be shown was the actual "working cut". The actual film itself is due to be released in USA on 9th October 2011 (New York Film Festival), and the rest of USA on 4th November 2011, with the UK seeing the release on 18th November 2011. Artist Rooms on Tour with Art Fund, De La Warr Pavillion, Bexhill, England will house its first exhibition from 24th September, it will be of Andy Warhol's work, which will include the famous painting of Marilyn Monroe, and the exhibition will run for 5 months there, it's also FREE!! Marilyn's film "Some Like it Hot" will be screened at Bodiam Castle, England on 28th August 2011, and tickets for this will be £12 for adults, £10 for children, £40 for family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Optical Heights, a provider of top brand collections will be hosting a silent art auction today from 3pm - 9pm, and this is being held to raise funds for The Sarah Grace Foundation For Children With Cancer. On display will be a donated large format giclee of Marilyn Monroe. Visitors to the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto from this Friday will be able to look at images of Marilyn Monroe, which will be featured as part of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection at the Queen Elizabeth Building. 'Debbie Reynolds: The Exhibit' will be held at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA. Many items from film will be on display, including outfits worn by our very own Marilyn Monroe, and the exhibit will run until December 2011. On this date 49 years ago the world woke to the sad news that Marilyn Monroe had left this world, I hope that Norma Jeane has found peace bless her. Norma Jeane aka Marilyn Monroe you may be gone from this world but you still live on in the hearts of those that love you!! Also today marks Marilyn Monroe Memories 6th Birthday, thanks for all your support everyone!! "My Week with Marilyn" film, which focuses on Marilyn's time here in England will have its debut in the Lincoln Center New York in October 2011, as part of the city's Film Festival. The Plaza Classic Film Festival starts today and the opening film is "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", you can watch it at the Kendall Kid Performance Hall from 7pm tonight. On Saturday 23rd July 2011 an auction will be held at Brandt's Tavern in Morris, all in aid of Operation St. Nick, one of the items featured will be a Marilyn Monroe autograph framed with a picture of her still as Norma Jeane and one later as Marilyn Monroe, this is said to be worth at least $3,600. Another auction now......on 29th July 2011 Heritage Auctions will hold the Signature(r) Music & Entertainment Memorabilia Auction in Dallas, Texas. Items included in this auction are seven photographs of a young Norma Jeane aka Marilyn Monroe, some of the images have remained unseen by the public. Attendees at The Ridgewood Guild Movies in the Park got to watch a FREE showing of Marilyn Monroe's film "Some Like it Hot" yesterday. The 2011 Seoul Art Festival will start on 22nd July 2011 and end on 24th July 2011, at The Westin Chosun Seoul there will be photographs taken by documentary photographer Elliott Erwitt on display, included is Marilyn Monroe. Chicago's Magnificent Mile now has a 26ft sculpture of Marilyn Monroe in her famous pose from the film "The Seven Year Itch", and people walking by wasted no time in getting a closer look of this sculpture entitled "Forever Marilyn." The sculpture itself is made of steel and aluminium, and was revealed today. The statue will remain there until Spring next year......if you live in the area and go to see it, please let me know. I've been able to find a photograph, and a video clip of the actual sculpture too, which I'm pleased to be able to include on Marilyn Monroe Memories. On 29th July Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas, will hold a Music and Entertainment Auction, and in this auction will be Marilyn Monroe's Home Town Story contract, which is signed, it is estimated that this item alone could sell for at least $10,000. Other items that belonged to Marilyn Monroe include her model release form from 1946 which includes first photo taken during the session, a photograph of Marilyn posing in a ski lodge, and a freelance player's contract, signed by Marilyn and dated 22 March 1950, these are expected to sell for at least $7,000. The Albany catwalk range now includes Marilyn Monroe wallpaper, the image used is that of a young Marilyn and features the phrase "strike a pose", you can choose from black and grey with metallic inks or chocolate and gold, this wallpaper costs £19.99. In East Hampton, NY, the Gallery Valentine has opened on the main street. The reason this is mentioned is that it is being reported that if you walk towards the back of the gallery you will see a larger than life black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe, this is not only on display but also for sale. The National Portrait Gallery in London is holding an exhibition examining the importance of photographs in creating stars of Hollywood from 1920-1960, and Marilyn Monroe photographs are included in this. The exhibition opens on 7th July 2011 and closes on 23rd October 2011. A new exhibition "Warhol and the Diva" is now on at the Lowry in Salford, UK and featured in this are some of his most familiar portraits, and yes included is his portrait of Marilyn Monroe. This exhibition ends in September 2011. Divas World which is based in Houston returns to Boothbay for a series of Summer concerts during the Mainely Music Festival, which started on Friday and ends on 29th July 2011. One of the concerts that will take place is "Marilyn!! Babydoll Reflects", which will be held on 23rd July 2011 at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. This concert will illuminate the life of Marilyn Monroe and Hollywood glamour, all told through the many songs she made famous and through some of Marilyn's own quotes that have been published, and tickets for this are $17 for members and $20 general public. The Suncoast Animal League's "Arts for Animals" benefit auction has sold a print of Marilyn Monroe for $410, the photographer is Milton H Greene. Catalina Island Museum will hold an exhibition which will focus on the life of Norma Jeane Baker aka Marilyn Monroe from 1942 during her first marriage, no actual opening date but looking like it could be August this year. Marilyn Monroe has had a champagne named after her - "Champagne Marilyn Monroe", and this is set to debut at the world's largest wine trade fair in Bordeaux this week. It has been created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death, which will be 5th August 2012. Also there are champagne glasses that have engraved on them the words "Champagne Marilyn Monroe." Not been able to locate an actual price for the champagne yet, however I can tell you the glasses, which are 'The Official Champagne Marilyn Monroe' glasses are selling, in a pack of six for 159.00 euros. The first part of The Debbie Reynolds Auction takes place today in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The highlight of the collection, which contains more than 500 wardrobe items from many movies collected over the past 50 years, is Marilyn Monroe's white dress, which of course as we all know was the famous dress from The Seven Year Itch. This dress alone is expected to sell at auction for between $1 million and $2 million. The auction begins at 12pm today. The Weinstein Company have announced that "My Week with Marilyn", which is based on Marilyn's time here in the UK, will be released on 4th November 2011. Happy Birthday Marilyn Monroe - today would have been Norma Jeane's 85th birthday had she still been alive, fans all around the world will be marking this special day in their own unique way!! A man who bought some rare photos of Marilyn Monroe in a garage sale some 30 years ago, and it's only now that he's come across the envelope full of negatives. At some point they will be going up for auction, but already news has spread about this finding and he's been contacted by people around the world. Also the famous white dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in "The Seven Year Itch" is due to go under the hammer at an auction which will start on 18th June, no other details about that auction are available at this moment in time. Going back to the photographs found, I am so very pleased to be able to share with you some of them, please see the video below. The trailer for the film "My week with Marilyn" has been shown during the Cannes International Film Festival, and it was met with a round of applause. It's further being reported that this film is going to be on the BBC's schedule to broadcast on television here in the UK, will keep checking on that though. "My week with Marilyn" is all about when Marilyn visited England to film "The Prince and the Showgirl." I've found a great video that shows some of the film stills from "My week with Marilyn", and I'm pleased to be able to include it on Marilyn Monroe Memories. A 2 day auction took place this week, and one of the items was a pair of pink satin Ferragamo high heels worn by Marilyn Monroe in the film "Let's Make Love", the winning bid was $18,400. Julien's Auction's announced top sales in the second day of their Summer Hollywood Legends auction event. Some of Marilyn's personal items were on sale at the auction: a black cocktail dress worn by Marilyn in 1958 to a party sold for $348,000, a Marilyn Monroe swimsuit with MGM label sold for $84,000, the umbrella that Marilyn used in the 1949 photo shoot she did with Andre De Dienes sold for $18,000 and a collection of original transparancies and negatives taken by Harold Davidson sold for $72,000. There were other Marilyn owned items including script, clothing, photographs and correspondence which were some of the other highlights of the auction. Mariah Carey has given birth to twins, a boy and a girl. The boy is called Moroccan and the girl is called Monroe (named after Marilyn Monroe) - congratulations to the proud parents!! It would seem a new play opened at the Citizen's Theatre in Edinburgh, titled "Marilyn", which looked at the darker side of fame, and Marilyn is presented as being fiercely independent and quietly vulnerable, and it's set in the Spring and Summer of 1960. A letter written by 16 year old Norma Jeane Dougherty has been sold at auction for $52,460. It is reported that the letter was written in pencil, has never been seen before by the public, and in it a newly married Norma Jeane Dougherty describes being a housewife, and this letter was sent to Grace Goddard. Part of the letter states: "Jimmy is so swell to me, in fact I know that if I had waited 5 or 10 years I couldn't have found anyone who would have treated me better." She further states: "Everybody told me that it is quite a responsibility being a housewife, but it really is a lot of fun." It has been reported today that some of the photographs taken of Marilyn Monroe in her last photo session will be up for auction next week, the photographs are of Marilyn with the see-through scarf. It is being stated they are set to sell for at least £15,000, and the auction will take place on 24th March at Swann Gallery in New York. It was with sadness that I heard that the actress Jane Russell had died earlier this week, she remembered her time working with Marilyn with fondness in any interview I read/watched, and she was indeed kind to Marilyn when they worked together, may Jane and Marilyn both rest in peace. It was also with sadness that I heard of the death of John Milner last week, he was a former prosecutor in LA who always maintained that Marilyn Monroe had been murdered, after he investigated the terrible night of Marilyn's death in 1962 - RIP. Regular visitors to Marilyn Monroe Memories might have noticed that this website no longer holds the link to Marilyn's official website, the reason for this is that the official website has gone sadly, however will keep checking the website address and if that changes I will let you know on here. It's being reported that a letter written by Marilyn Monroe about her first wedding will be for sale in a New York auction, no other details as yet but it is being stated that the letter may well sell for at least £22,000. There was a new play that opened this month in Glasgow, Scotland called "Marilyn", and yes it's based on our favourite actress. From 12th March 2011 - 30th October 2011 an exhibition dedicated to Marilyn Monroe will be held at the American Museum in Bath, here in the UK. It's been reported that if you attend Bath Hotels you can see the collection each day, tickets are £9 for adults, and £5 for children. Some of the items in this exhibition will be some of Marilyn's dresses from films, along with personal effects and original photographs - if you are lucky enough to go please email me and let me know what you thought, thanks. It has been reported today that Canadian businessman Jamie Salter and his US partners have bought the rights to Marilyn's name and image for $50 million. In Frankfurt, Germany some of Marilyn Monroe's private possessions will go on show this week. There are about 300 items, of which most have never been seen on public display before. Some of the items are Marilyn's last telephone book and her desk diary from 1961, along with her hair curlers and clothing. The show starts on 15th December 2010, and is due to end on 28th February 2011, and is being staged at the Museum of Icons in Frankfurt. The Christie's auction, which was held in New York and marked Playboy magazine's 50th year saw a photograph of Marilyn Monroe sell for £15,823. The Braswell Galleries in Norwalk is having an auction on New Year's Day, and some of the items going under the hammer will be two signed nude photographs of Marilyn Monroe, both taken by Bert Stern. Found out today that a pair of empty prescription bottles that belonged to Marilyn Monroe have been sold at auction for $18,750. It's been reported today that George Lucas, creator of Star Wars has started his most ambitious project to date, he is going to do a film that would use computer graphics to bring icons such as Marilyn Monroe alive on the screen once more. He has been buying the film rights to some of the deceased actors like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, etc with the hope of bringing them together in a film alongside today's movie stars..watch this space!! Heard that Bonhams, Madison Avenue, New York will be holding an auction on 9th December, one of the items going under the hammer will be a rare photograph of Marilyn Monroe and John Kennedy, and his brother Robert from 19 May 1962. It was found in an envelope marked "Sensitive Material". This photograph is estimated at $4,000-$6,000. Playboy has now issued every issue to date on a 250GB portable hard drive, starting with the first issue which featured Marilyn Monroe in December 1953. It's selling at $300. Michelle Williams, who will portray Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming film "My Week With Marilyn", and she has stated that she is taking part in lessons on how to behave like Marilyn so she can be portrayed as realistically as possible. On 3rd-4th December 2010 Julien's Auctions will present an auction of "Icons & Idols" memorabilia in Beverly Hills, California. Marilyn Monroe photographs taken by Andre de Dienes along with photographs taken by Bert Stern, Milton Greene and George Barris will feature in the auction. It was sad to hear the news of the death of Tony Curtis last week, RIP. In tribute here in the UK on the Friday night they broadcast the wonderful film "Some Like it Hot", of course I stayed up to watch it but found out about the showing of this film too late to let you all know = sorry. "Fragments" is a new book that will be released next week (12th October), and will feature many of Marilyn Monroe's letters, poems, notes, etc - a book I'm very much looking forward to being able to read, and hope to bring you a review soon. In November Christie's in Paris will hold an auction of over 60 rare photographs taken by Richard Avedon, and our Marilyn Monroe features, the vintage print of Marilyn is expected to sell for between $100,000 - $150,000. Also now released is a new biography of Marilyn Monroe and this is called "The Final Years of Marilyn Monroe - The Shocking True Story", and that is out now. Never before seen photographs of Marilyn Monroe have been featured in National Newspapers this week. The photograph collection is known as the "Lost Look Photographs", and there will be a book on sale from this week, one I'll be looking out for. Talking of books, another new book that will be available to buy soon features a collection of Marilyn's notes, letters, poems, etc and this book will be called "Fragments" - sounds very exciting, looking forward to being able to read that. It has been reported today that the actress Emma Watson (famous for her role in the Harry Potter films) will be part of the cast of the film "My Week With Marilyn", I'm looking forward to that being made and released. It has been reported this week that Marilyn Monroe's Brentwood home has been sold for nearly $4 million dollars, I hope whoever has bought the house will be happy there and treat the house with respect, just as Marilyn did when she owned it. It's been in the news about female figures and the wanting to be thin = it's been stated that "Marilyn Monroe with all her glorious curves was the benchmark of femininity and sex appeal for the 1950's. So, how did society change its mind about what's beautiful." (the star online). The entertainment reporter and columinst James Bacon sadly died on Saturday, aged 96. He was a friend of Marilyn's from the start of her career right through to her death in 1962, and he reported on the sad all too soon death of "Our Marilyn" too. RIP. An auto auction took place over the American traditional Labor Day weekend, and one of the cars that was sold at auction was a car once owned by Marilyn Monroe, sadly doesn't say which car though. Marilyn fans already know this but it's in the news again so worth mentioning anyway, Marilyn was the first lady to be on the cover page of Playboy when it made its debut in 1953. An exhibition of Andy Warhol will run until 1st September 2010 at The Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. The Daily Mail has reported that Judi Dench will be joining the cast of a new film "My Week With Marilyn", this film is based on the book by Sir Laurence Oliver's employee Colin Clark. The book is based on a diary of the time Marilyn was over here in UK for the filming of "The Prince and The Showgirl". There is talk of a new film based on Marilyn Monroe's life, which is being adapted from the book "The Life & Opinions of Maf The Dog and His Friend Marilyn Monroe" being "put together", in the frame for being in the film is George Clooney to play Frank Sinatra and Angelina Jolie to play the part of Marilyn - both actors have denied their involvement. On 5th August 2010 will mark the anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death - still to this day none of us know really what happened that night, and we all have our own ideas of what happened on that night. Marilyn's last home is still very much in the news due to it being for sale again, as I said last week how I wish I had the money to buy it!! Free for All Movie Mondays are back at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, and it all started last night with "Some Like it Hot" - anyone go to see it last night?? Please let me know if you did!! The Jersey City Independent reported this week that a former Zoning Official has donated about 20 items of Marilyn Monroe Memorabilia to help raise funds for Jersey City Library. Among the items that Tony has donated is a life sized statue of Marilyn in her famous Seven Year Itch pose - hope lots of money is raised for the library.
