The only film that Marilyn did for Columbia Pictures, and the first time that Marilyn sang on the big screen. Home Town Story. Was an industrial film that was not released commercially. Can be bought on DVD now. The Asphalt Jungle. This film was the first in which Marilyn was noticed by the public. Also the first time that Hollywood took notice too!! Don't Bother to Knock. Marilyn's first starring role in a film. Niagara. This film launched Marilyn on the road to stardom!! Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. This film allowed Marilyn to sing, dance, and show everyone just how irresistibly and comedically appealing she was as an actress!! |

Bus Stop. Some consider this film to be her finest performance on the big screen, and one which made the movie industry listen to her when she said she wanted to be taken seriously. The Prince and the Showgirl. This was the first film made under Marilyn Monroe Productions. Some Like It Hot. One of Marilyn's most successful films, and in the history of the movies, it is the biggest comedy hit to date!! Something's Got to Give. Would have been Marilyn's 30th film had it been completed. Sacked by Fox for her being ill on and off, but after the threats of lawsuits, 20th Century-Fox had talks with Marilyn and rehired her to complete the film – sadly she died before being able to!! |
